To strengthen the African impact ecosystem, and to mark five years of enabling social investment in Africa, AVPA will be hosting its inaugural signature convening; the 2024 AVPA Conference from 4th to 6th November 2024 in Nairobi, Kenya. Themed ‘Catalysing Africa’s Sustainable Growth’, this three-day event aims to bring together diverse stakeholders in Africa’s Impact ecosystem to forge new connections and share learnings that accelerate development progress across the continent. The conference will focus on key topics like catalytic investing, innovate finance, partnerships for impact and climate finance.
In recognising the critical challenge of mobilising finance for sustainable growth in Africa, the three-day experience aims to convene pivotal actors across Africa's Impact investment landscape—ranging from capital providers and ecosystem enablers to policymakers and demand-side stakeholders. Our goal is to facilitate synergistic dialogue that explores current advancements and scopes out the future pathways for creating a conducive environment where finance is not only available but optimally impactful towards sustainable growth. We seek to foster meaningful connections and collaborations through a curated programme of engaging discussions, practical workshops, masterclasses, and immersive field visits, complemented by structured networking opportunities. These interactions will spotlight innovative financing and sustainability strategies while exploring the use of catalytic capital to drive tangible impact across the continent.

Volunteer at the 2024 AVPA Conference: Interested in growing your knowledge of the Impact sector while meeting and networking with leaders in the sector? Apply here to join us as a volunteer and get the opportunity to be plugged in behind the scenes. To qualify as a volunteer, you would be required to be available for a volunteer corps briefing on all 3 days of the conference (4th - 6th November) The deadline for volunteer applications is 18th August 2024.
Nominate a speaker: We are constantly looking for experts to join us, drive important discourse, and draw insights from our diverse conference sessions. If you know of an interesting speaker who would be a good fit for the conference, please either fill out this form or send it to them so they can fill it. The deadline for nominating speakers is 11th October 2024.
Submit a session idea: The AVPA community is at the heart of the conference. As such, we’re looking for session ideas from our members and wider audience to ensure we are as inclusive as possible in the agenda-building process. Please submit your session ideas via this form so we can review and select the best ones to include in the agenda. The deadline for session submissions is 13th September 2024.
Exhibit at the Conference: The exhibition booth is a unique opportunity to showcase your work at the conference exhibition area. We have limited spaces so write to events@avpa.africa to book your place and reserve your slot. The cost of the exhibition booth is $5,000 and this includes the exhibition booth with a branded fascia name, a table, two chairs, and an electrical connection. Other items can be provided but at an extra cost.

We shall publish a list of who else is attending closer to the conference.
There is no dress code but as this is a business event, it is advisable to wear formal business or casual business attire.
Our ticket categories ensure that the event is accessible to all interested parties. If you are an AVPA member, please select the AVPA member ticket. If you are not a member but wish to become an AVPA member, please write to us so we can guide you on the most appropriate ticket for you. If you wish to attend but do not wish to become an AVPA member, please select the standard ticket.
Tickets to the conference are fully transferable but non-refundable.
Tickets will remain available for purchase until 30th September 2024 or until when they’re sold out (whichever comes first).

The conference will be hosted at the Trademark Hotel in Nairobi’s Gigiri Area within the Village Market compound. You may choose to stay at the Trademark Hotel or The Tribe Hotel, both in the Village Market compound. Alternatively, you may book accommodation at the following hotels here:
Yes, we can provide you with a visa letter. Please write to gmurage@avpa.africa with your details and we will send you a filled and signed visa invitation letter.
Please check that you are in line with immigration requirements here. If you need a visa letter, please fill out our draft invitation letter with your details and send it to gmurage@avpa.africa and we will send you a signed copy for your visa application.
All conference participants must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 by 18th September 2024, and hold a valid vaccination certificate. If you are not vaccinated, you may be required to present a negative PCR test (at your own cost) 48 hours before the event. Without the above, you will not be allowed into the event despite having paid for your tickets to the conference. AVPA and its partners may also subject participants to a rapid test at a later date or on arrival at the venue.
The event will be structured as 2 days of sessions (4th & 5th November) and one day (6th of November) of excursions, masterclasses and the gala dinner.
